There has been some unusal high waters in the state of Acre, Brazil this year. Our co-workers to be, lost their newly constructed house due to record rising of the river up there. Well the flooding waters have finally reached Cruzeiro where my folks are and their mission church down in "Stilt City" has about 6 inches of water in it. My dad wrote that many people are sleeping on their kitchen tables instead of leaving their homes. The locals feel the waters will reside here soon. One neat opportunity my dad and his witnessing partners have had is in the local gym. Quite a few families are living in the town gym until the water goes down. So this week my dad and his buddies went down to the gym and held a gospel meeting there and handed out New Testaments.
People are always in need, need of dry housing, need of food, need of money, but their real NEED is salvation that comes through Jesus Christ.

That is very amazing. When I was there in 2004 we were standing on dry ground below the cat walks singing and ministering to the crowd at stilt city.
